Glenn Irwin was gracious in defeat to Tommy Bridewell but the DNF’s from Donington still played on the Northern Irish riders mind as the 2023 BSB season drew to a close at Brands Hatch.
Glenn Irwin had a strong final day of the season, winning both races and securing his ninth and tenth victories of the season. However, despite his success, he lost the title by just half a point to Bridewell. He reflected on the season, noting that the turning point was his first win at Silverstone and the advice he received from Eugene Laverty. The disaster at Donington Park, where he scored zero points, weighed on his mind as it could have made a difference in the championship. He praised Bridewell’s performance and acknowledged that their rivalry added excitement to the championship.
